i bought most of my books at start of uni last yr from book shwop. If you get in early, you'll most likely get your hands on books from popular subjects, such as econ, accg, comp etc. if you don't get in early, you'll be confronted with older editions, books with lower quality, or books with higher prices...

another way to buy your books is by looking at posters stuck on walls around campus. some ppl choose to sell their books this way because book shwop charges the seller a % of the book sold.

the best way from my experience is to buy off people you know. you might not know many people right now because you havent started uni, but it should be ok next semester. a good way to know people in grades above you is through your student society. or even ask your mentors, they can hook you up with ppl who wanna sell books.

you can look for what you need yourself

type in unit code here

http://www.coop-bookshop.com.au/cgi...&use_template=true&_next_page_=DataSubjSelect

after ur search, if the status is "text", then this book/notes is compulsory. if not, then it's just extra reference you may choose to buy.

click on the title of the book (in blue) for details. check out what edition you need.
eg. Edition: 08E02
this means u need 8th edition published in 2002.

alternatively you can do this search manually via a catelogue at coop bookstore, or on sheets posted on windows of coop bookstore.

this is the only text it says for pys04 but although its a "text", i dont think its a proper one coz of its title, it seems more like a helping book: "Psychology & Study Guide & Interactive Approach To Writing Package"

would this b worth getting b4 classes coz its the only book listed? or wait?

oh almost forgot, sometimes (rarely) your lecturer writes his/her own textbook and will tell you to buy that. And you cant get it from coop. So with some units you'll find out what you need when uni starts.
