I've only covered it in tuition so far... I felt that it wasn't hard to understand, just that a few months onwards I know I've forgotten quite a bit. So the trick is to remember most of it I think, and know what to use when someone pulls a question from anywhere.

know your 3 unit integration ;) :)

umm well i had a bit of trouble on ext 1 and ext 2 integration when i first started out. i knew the basics but had a little trouble recognising obviuos features/rules. my friend told me to get my hands on the Fitzpatrick 4 unit mathematics and do every single question in that book. even if it means me re doing some of the easy one and going step by step through each procedure. i onyl did about half of it and now i can do just about any integration (but no i've forgotten it all) i got full marks for my integration section of my 4 unit paper :D
the moral here is: practice makes perfect :)

lol, i just love the way hatty phrases his sentences. :)

and isn't integration supposedly the easiest of the 4u topics? Thats why it is question 1 in the hsc paper.

don't look at me, i said supposedly cause i hate trig. I never got taught trig properly, and i never did my homework for trig, so i suck at it. And heaps of 4u integration seems trig, so i'm keeping my distance. :(

JUST PRACTICE anywhere u can get questions.. scab, steal , beg (by this stage ull look pathetic too) and just keep doing them..

if it isnt easy at the start after 150 of them it will be!

4u integration, the trick is to find the easiest method of going about it. have preferences in method, e.g. if u can avoid trig sub, and use normal algebraic sub instead, then opt for that. also do lots of practice questions.

integration by comparison of other 4u topics is arguably the easiest topic. question 1 stuff :)

Calm down man. Integration is quite hard for those that can't just see it.

Just like geometry is next to impossible for people with a lack of visual skills.

i absolutely agree with keypads post. I love geometry, but hate trig/integration (3u which involves heaps of trig). hehhe, i'm learning the rules RIGHT NOW. i've done all the basic trig rules, am in the process of memorising the integration/differentiation rules for sin/cos/tan/blah.
