Do AC induction motors have commutators?(slip ring)

AC motor has slip rings, not a commutator
DC motor has a split ring commutator
AC induction motors do not require Slip rings as the current is applied to coils in the stator.

A universal motor, that can run on AC, has a split ring commutator.

yes, tru. note taken. do they change the circuit to remove the split ring to use AC???
i was making generalistaions

A universal motor is the same as an ordinary DC motor except the coil and the electromagnets are in series.

So when the coil swaps direction the magnets do as well so it spins the same way.

i remember my teacher saying that induction motors do have slip rings......pls correct me if im wrong!

Induction motors do not posses slip rings, as the current is induced.

AC synchronous motors do however, posses slip rings.

Universal motors posses split ring commutators.
