Hey my friend whos doin appfin/llb was wondering whether it is better to do accg 100 and 101, as opposed to 105...what is the difference between these units and would it b better for him to do 105 given that he is doin app fin/law (and he has done business + economics in year 12)

thanks

Well doing 1 unit is always better than 2 (less time and hecs.). Plus 105 is easier.

for applied finance you do ACCG101 if you do ACCG100.

i'd say just do ACCG105. its for those students who arn't doing an acounting major but need to know some basic accounting for their degree.

no Sweet Lemon for appfin u do either 100+101 OR 105, in accounting u have to do
Accg 101+Accg 105 OR Accg 100

so accg 105 is easier?

I found 105 not that difficult (esp in relation to ACCG200). It is used to be a core unit for B Creative Arts students, believe it or not.

105 is much easier than doing both 100 and 101.

and actuaries already have a heavy enough load...just stick with doin 105, imo.

sweet lemon, you are doing bcom- accg, so do 100 and 101. 101 follows on from 100. and you majoring in accg, so you need to have strong foundations in accg.
what happens is that 100 is a sem1 subject and 105 and 101 are sem2. 101 is also offered in summer school.

so you do 100 in first sem. if you pass, you do 101, if you fail, you do 105 and 101 in summer school. thats the preferred method.

Macquarie doesn't offer much in terms of Winter School, prolly just Geology units and a few other "excursion" units.

If only Macquarie had UNSW "Online" units *cough*...

that someone was flyin' (in fact, it's a little cheaper than international student rate, but not by much)

like for a subject which would normally cost about $700, you might find it costs $1400 in summer school
