...you don't visit "http://192.168.1.1"

Your internal LAN IP is supposed to be 192.168.1.1 (unless otherwise specified).

Consult your manual, because I don't own a Netcomm ADSL Modem.

You will want to configure your LAN IP address(es) and TCP/IP details including your primary and secondary DNS servers.

After this, you will most likely be required (if you have one) to access your router via the Web Interface to configure your router. If you don't have one, then don't worry.

I suggest you visit iiNet's support webpage for technical help and troubleshooting (I hope iiNet provide support for your modem, and if you haven't purchased a modem through iiNet, that they support - then you will have to read the manufacturer; Netcomm's website for more details).

I also recommend that you use the Ethernet uplink, instead of the USB uplink on your ADSL modem. You will then have to configure your network (see above) and designate IP address(es) for each node on your network.

If, (for some reason), 192.168.1.1 is your modem's web interface (although I highly doubt this, unless you have a built-in router with your ADSL modem), then you will be required to log into the page - you should be able to see a login prompt requiring a username and password.

I suggest you consult your user manual or any guides, given to you on purchase/delivery. (try 'admin/admin' as this is the default factory login information for the Billion line of ADSL Modems and routers; 7100 Pro model).

that should be in the web interface huy described above. in my case (netgear), its 192.168.0.1 and the default user/pass was admin/admin.

My Network Places (or My Network Neighborhood),
Right-click, Properties

(or get into it)
then right-click, properties on your default connection (call it iiNet or whatever). You will then be able to see your network interface cards.

Highlight 'Internet Protocols (TCP/IP)' and click Properties, you'll be able to assign IP addresses, subnet masks, gateways and primary and secondary DNS servers as described above from here, applying changes.

Ordinarily, 192.168.0.1 would be the default gateway (or IP address of your main PC) - but of course, you can change this if you wanted to.

My home LAN has a range between 192.168.1.1 to *.1.10
(Maximum of 10 PC's connected to the LAN at any one time).

Further, if you have a Billion ADSL Modem and router, your address (on a 7100 Pro series) would be: http://192.168.1.254 (I believe this works for the older models of Billion modems too).

Refer to your manual for more details, take time out to read everything and make sure you understand it. :)

Maybe you're not doing something properly.

Make sure you have the correct login details and authentication procedures (also run a diagnostic test on your ADSL modem, via the web interface). Your username should be username@iinet.net.au not just username. You also have to go through each page of the router-configuration interface (page) and make sure everything there is configured to your own personal settings, or left to their factory defaults/settings if it's not needed.
