Is it safe to assume that in most courses, the raw marks will be "aligned up"??
for example, a raw mark of 89 in chemistry will aliggned to 90??

A raw mark of 62 in Mathematics will be aligned to 70?? possible?

Aligning is typically upwards.

No one really knows for sure how much though. It changes year to year depending on the exam.

so the top marks in each of the courses we saw in the HSC, for example 99, 98.... are all just aligned to that high mark??

In reality, the raw marks could be something like 94, 95??
