all the 2u/3u textbooks have good stuff on curve sketching.

the cambridge one has a "curve sketching template" which is like a guide...

see...if you come up with an equation in the form of y=mx+b, u immediately say its a straight line with a constant gradient..hence where the m comes from!

haha thats pro. yeah, y = mx + b used to kill me in year 9
hmmm there are standard steps to sketch generic graphs.
1) whether the graph is odd / even (massive time saver)
2) asymptotes / intercepts
3) dy/dx, find all stat points.
there are more steps but u think for most cases thats all u need.
and keeping in mind that the graph can not cross the axes without either an intercept or asymptote, u can practically graph anything
having said that, i dont think in this regard there is much difference between math books, they essentially all teach u 'that', more or less.

drawing graphs just takes practice..like any other application i guess...
as Lobster said..intercepts, asymptotes and stationary/max/min pts are crucial to get the marks...
but also make sure ur graph co-response to the equation given(ie, correct function, +ve or -ve, is it a hyperbola or parabola or just a cubic curve etc...)

yeah, there's a whole prelim. topic "geometrical applications of calculus" i think...(well thats what my book says anyway).

yeah, we have those booklets for 4u...but i'll tell there's enough stuff in the cambridge yr. 11 book for curve sketching-more than u need.
