Just wondering, would it be better to put Miranda and Ferdinand in the same paragraph or separate paragraphs?

It depends on how you are structuring your essay - what is the basis of each of your paragraphs? Are you doing a character, text, or thematic based response? Personally - I would put them both in the same paragraph, that is what I have done since it is easier to analyse their relationship as a whole but again, it depends on what you are trying to portray.

it's quite common to go either Prospero and Miranda or Miranda and Ferdinand based on their relationships.

If you wanted to have Miranda in a paragraph on her own it would definitely be very tricky as all her scenes are usually paired with those two characters.
