Hi I was just wondering if there are hotspots at UTS where you can wirelessly connect to the internet? If so, how much does it cost to be able to use them, and is it free for union members?

There are wireless hotspots in the main levels of the Tower Building, in Building 10, the Library and Building 5. You connect to the UTS network, so you need a UTS student ID and password to log in.

Visit: http://www.wireless.uts.edu.au

Best of all, its free, if you're a UTS student :). All you have to do is install this software thing which ensures you have a secure connection and helps you to login.

The IT faculty also have their own wireless network in Building 10 if you have an IT login/password.

UTS has the best technology infrastructure. One would expect that, considering it controls half of Sydney's bandwidth.

We have to pay for our Wireless access at USYD, but if we connect our lappies through the Library network we can still download heaps of shit.

Free wireless access? How cool is that.
Dunno how useful it'd be though..
