Last year there was no band 6’s in the subjects that I am doing
Thank you. Given this information, you seem to be on track with an ATAR of up to 79. This essentially means that achieving an ATAR of 90 at this stage seems rather unlikely, given that you would need optimal HSC exam performance across your subjects, which may be overwhelming to reach. However, an ATAR of 80 and above is within reach. Your current performance is consistent with an ATAR reasonably close to 80 and, with superior HSC exam performance, you will have a high chance of exceeding an 80 ATAR.
Mathematics Advanced is your best-performing subject. You also have the advantage of being ranked first, which means that the moderation process will work in your favour if you also achieve the highest HSC exam mark in your cohort. This gives you a great opportunity to maximise your overall HSC mark because in such a case, your overall HSC mark would be made equal to your HSC exam mark. Based on this, you should ensure that you prepare for your Mathematics Advanced HSC exam to the best of your ability.
There appears to be greater room for improvement in your other subjects. Your performance in English Standard is not necessarily unfavourable, although your performance in your other subjects indicates your main areas of focus as you approach your HSC exams. Thorough preparation for the HSC exam of these subjects is therefore important and will allow you to improve your overall performance in each.
Lastly, keep in mind that while an ATAR of 90 may be difficult to achieve at this stage, you may still be able to achieve a selection rank of 90 by having adjustment factors applied to your selection rank. This increases your chances of receiving an offer if the lowest selection rank for the degree is within this range.
