I was wondering, if the atar cut-off for a particular course is 90 and I manage to just make it with 90.05 or something like that, do I still have a chance of being accepted?

Also, would I have a greater chance if I was able to obtain bonus points?

Thanks

Depends if the cut-offs change. If it drops less than or equal to the year's cut-off, then you're pretty much guaranteed entry. That's because cut-offs for a year are determined by the lowest admitted ATAR for a course at an institution. If it goes above, then the chances are going to decrease or are lost completely. I've heard stories of people being admitted to courses despite being 0.10 below the year's cut-off, but it depends on the course. B Psychology is known to reject people who are off by 0.05.

As for bonus points, you'll be given them if you fit the requirements for bonus points, regardless of ATAR. But then it varies from course to course if they accept bonus points. B Psychology doesn't admit people through bonus points.

Hopefully that helped.
