Did not do very well all of my subject ranks went down after trials.

General Maths 50/90
Industrial Technology 15/20
Engineering Studies 2/2
English Standard 40/90
SOR 20/80

School Rank: 300+

P.S. I only need a 75 for my desired course so even though i didnt do as well as i would like this year as long as i get into my desired course im happy

I'm not very good at estimating so don't take my estimate seriously hahah.

But I think you're around the low 60s, maybe low 70s if you ace the Externals.

Your ATAR depends a lot on your cohorts since you're within the middle ranks.

Basically with most of these subjects the scaling is not so great... You need to do pretty damn well for it to be reflected equally in your ATAR. There was a girl in my school who did general maths, standard english, geography, Legal and Business studies. She worked her ass off (she wasn't a prodigy by any means - an average student with LOTS of dedication) and she managed an ATAR of 88. I don't know to what degree the ATAR drops off if you score lower, but you would want to try and blitz the exam as well as you can because if you're on or below average it will hit your ATAR hard...

I get an estimate of 78.

80+ is def possible... right now Gen maths and SOR are really dragging you down.

The external exam is 50% of your HSC mark (which is the only determinant of your ATAR).

HSC mark= average (assessment mark + exam mark).

You don't have all that much control over your assessment mark (depends how you class goes) but you still have complete control over your external exam mark. If you examine well, then you should get above 80.
