G'Day guys, in desperate need of motivation to study so please be conservative with estimate if you can spare a second!

So...I go to a regional school ranked in early 300s and was awarded dux of year 12 if that gives any background. Marks and ranks are as follows;
Advanced Mathematics:
80% raw trial
91% moderated trial
rank 1/19 overall

Chemistry:
86% raw trial
94% moderated trial
rank 1/27 overall

Physics:
69% raw trial
86% moderated trial
rank 1/18 overall

Economics:
93% raw trial
90% moderated trial
rank 1/17 overall

Business Studies:
86% raw trial
92% moderated trial
rank 1/34 overall

Extension 1 Mathematics:
70% raw trial
86% moderated trial
rank 1/12 overall

Standard English:
75% raw trial
85% moderated trial
rank 1/64 overall

As you can see, ranks are good, but raw marks are only mediocre.

How do trial marks get moderated ?

Our school moderated them based upon previous year results to be concurrent with HSC average (i.e. physics average was 38% so was moderated to give average of 60s to give a truer indication)....or at least thats what they tell us.
