According to Hexus.net ATI has developed a "fix" for their drivers that can increase OpenGL performance by "up to 35%".
And much to my surprise, it does (at least in D3):
In Riddick the gain is there, but NVIDIA still has the lead:
Thought it might have been a gimmick at first.. and wondered what it would of done to IQ.. but then "The tool seemingly changes the way the graphics card maps and accesses board memory to better deal with handling AA sample data."
Very nice. Anyone out there with an ATi card.. get ready for Cat 5.11 and expect some nice performance enhancement to games like D3, UT2k4 etc.
