I think someone who is comfortable enough with their sexuality to be able to decide to be openly gay, would be more comfortable with having multiple sexual partners. Also, since there is still heavy social stigma against gay couples, there is alot of hassle with being in a openly gay relationship. Therefore, I reackon you'd generally have to be into the sex part for it to be worth it.
