High achieving students learn work and life skills from successful CPA Australia members
Over 30 high-achieving Bachelor of Accounting students from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) recently attended a presentation featuring successful members who revealed strategies used in their life and work experiences.
Presenters included CPA Australia's New South Wales (NSW) director Ron Switzer FCPA, NSW president Jim Mitchell FCPA and Phillipa Tosh from Westpac Banking Corporation. Phillipa is a former student of UTS and as a younger member, was able to outline her experiences of studying the CPA Program as well as working in a graduate position at Westpac.
The students in attendance formed part of an elite group who received entry into the Bachelor course by achieving a Tertiary Entrance Ranking (TER) in the high 90s.
The UTS intensive scholarship program incorporates two semesters of full-time work and offers a host of presentations for students - including CPA Australia's - to help achieve success when entering the workforce.
