What are the main differences between the Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Politics, versus the Bachelor of Social Science with the same major? They are both offered through the same faculty.
I've noted the compulsory units in the Social Science for the first year (link: BSocSC), while the Arts degree does not seem to demand any required units (link: BA). Aside from the obvious 2-point difference in ATAR, does anyone have any thoughts regarding the value of the Social Science degree over the Arts degree?
At this point, I'd like to include that my aim is to become a political journo.
Oh - and I would also like to add that I was at the MQUni open day this year, and left the International Comms lecture early, when the lecturer started implying that the importance of the degree was to "Make Friends" and to sit on bean bags.... Can't I make friends and sit on bean bags in Preschool?
In short: Which degree's more serious and looks better on a resume, BSocSC major in Pol or BA major in Pol?
Thanks!
