I reckon roughly low 60's due to a seemingly harder exam.

Scaling is unpredictable. And how do you get raw marks cut-off from past years anyway? BOS will just probably estimate and give you some random raw marks and also so-called scaling marks. The process is completely hidden. (Unless you paid BOS I heard)

For 2001:

A (45-52)/84 Raw Mark --> A 45/50 Aligned mark.

That's from another thread on this site. The 2001 exam was simple compared to 2006. I know those marks aren't "exactly" accurate, but I would have to say that the state as a whole would have to have gone better in 2001 than 2006. I think the raw band 6 cut off would have to be closer to this.

I think it'd be around 50-60/84 given that general consensus was that the paper was difficult. I think OVERALL the state wouldn't have performed that well anyway. Just hope scaling carries your raw mark into whatever range you want.

I hope so, because i'd be fairly confident of at least low 60s, so hopefully you guys are correct.

Low 60's high 50's you gotta be joking.

Not even the scaling for 4u is that high lol (about 65-70)

They call it band 6 for a reason. You need to be in the top group of students to get it. While it was a more difficult test than everyone was expecting, i wouldn't imagine that the cut off for band 6 will get below 80%, prob something around 82,83.

The questions were just long and annoying really.

i reckon i'd get around 65-70/84... but that doesn't include the careless mistakes, only questions that i didn't answer/left unfinished xD

as long as im in top band, im happy :)

umm...its an extension course so you'd be looking for an E4 band. I wouldn't have a clue where they fall, but the bands are bigger in extension courses because the assumption is that more of them are in the elite group of the state. I think most of the state falls in band E3 though, that pretty much gobbles up the 2 bands that go missing

If that's a scaled mark, I think it is about right. 74-75/84. But who knows what 50/84 will scale you up to? 70/84? You just can't predict scaling as it is the BOS' underground project :D.

haha you obviously don't do 4u do you? my dear friend, my sister did 4u last year her raw mark for the exam was 58% and she got scaled to 91/100!! and i have proof because she paid $30 and ordered the exam raw marks! as to this 3uint exam based on its dificulty i think the band 6 cut off should or will fall short for the mid - late 50's. i think band 6 cut off honestly will be 58-60! I guess only time will tell. and hopefully i can come back to you and correct you when we get our marks, and ill be ordering my raw marks:D have a nice day lol

You realise they give about the top 30% of MX1 students a band 6?

It'll be around 60, seeing as its usually mid-60 and this one was a fair bit harder.
