i have to think of themes of the movie bend it like bekham and find a scene and explain it as evidence,, i know afew themes such as cultural conflict,role reversal... but i cant think of a scene which shows it so i can prove it i also need more themes... i have a long essay to write please ill appreciate your help... thank you

Themes in Bend it like Beckham are:

-Cultural Diversity and Acceptance (moreso the acceptance of Jas' family to the British cultural norms)

- You can talk about Jas' self-journey of acceptance of her ethnic heritage, which she initially shunned

- You can talk about the 'ideal' British family, as displayed by Keira Knightley's family – specifically the scenes where her mother is concerned that she might be a lesbian – and how this would challenge her ideals about how a family should be.

-The main theme would be that of achievement in the face of obstacles - the metaphor of the soccer game.

I did a speech on Bend it Like Beckham earlier this year, talk about the journey that both her and her family go on and talk about the cultural expectations from her family a good scene for this is when her mum criticises her for not being able to make round chappatis and who would want a daughter in law who couldn't cook etc.
