A question for all CSE students

What were the most worthwhile CS electives you've taken or would recommend others take?

I heard Algorithms (COMP3121) and Ooperating Systems (COMP3231) is a must for every comp sci student even though they are not cores.

I've heard that too. It is a bit odd especially since Operating Systems is a core in Computer Engineering.
The CSE website also says every CSE student should take Discrete Maths yet Computer Engineering doesn't allow for it.

I've heard Software Construction (COMP2041) and Programming Challenges (COMP4128) are good.

Does anyone know if the free electives in CS single degree can be taken form the CS elective list or do they have to be from a different discipline?
