What do you reckon is the one golden stat that works across heaps of HSC Econ essays?
I’ve been thinking — the fewer stats you have to memorise, the easier life gets. But if you actually understand how to use them across multiple topics, it also builds those linking skills exam markers love (drawing on different concepts, showing depth, etc.).
Here’s mine:
Average annual GDP growth rate of ~2.9% (1990–2024)

Globalisation → “Trade integration supported long-run growth.”
Environment → “While achieving ~2.9% growth since 1990, this has coincided with persistently high per-capita emissions, questioning the sustainability of that growth.”
