Telstra has launched a service that could change the way Australians buy computer games. BigPond GameNow allows users to download games rather than buy them at a shop.

GameNow lets users play more than 100 PC games for a monthly subscription, starting from $19.95. Games download in the background while users play, avoiding lengthy waits.

Titles include chart-toppers Age of Mythology, Splinter Cell, Mechwarrior 4, Ghost Recon, Deus Ex 2, Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness, Hitman 2 and Prince of Persia Sands of Time. Family-oriented games include Monopoly, Puzzle Express, Pyjama Sam and Rayman.

Best thing ive seen yet.

Is GameNow unmetered for BigPond users?

If you are a BigPond Broadband ADSL or Cable customer, browsing the GameNow website and playing on the GameNow Game Manager is unmetered and will not count towards your BigPond usage limit.

Please note: Satellite, ISDN and Dial-up plans are not GameNow compatible.

To those wondering.

/edit/

what im interested in is if we are allowed to play the games if we cancel our account.
