I got this question in an assignment i have to do (i'm in yr 11) and i was just wonderng if this was enough info or if i was missing a huge chunk of the right answer, what do yo think?

The mechanism of gas exchange that occurs at the respiratory surface in all organisms is diffusion. Using a diagram of a human alveolus, explain:
i. how oxygen diffuses from the alveolar air into the blood and
ii. ii. How carbon dioxide diffuses from the blood into the alveolar air (5 marks).

In a human, oxygen diffuses in the lungs. Air is sucked into the lungs via the mouth/nose, trachea, bronchi, bronchioles and finally into the alveoli. Gas exchange occurs across the thin alveolar walls. There are capillaries surrounding the alveoli and because of pressure differences diffusion occurs. The carbon dioxide in the blood (deoxygenated blood) is exchanged for the oxygen in the alveoli (oxygenated blood).

thanks in advance.
