At the moment I am in the midst of completing the BIO108 essay.
being primarily a humanities student I'm not sure if I am writing the essay right for a science unit. I have chosen the topic on what factors contribute to new infectious diseases in modern society. The lecturer refers to the essay as a "story" which is confusing.
For anyone who's done BIO108, can you give tips on what would qualify for a distinction in the major essay for example. I have completed a lot of research, but I'm unsure if I am going in depth enough when I write or being too repetitive.
To get into the distinction range, would you need things like analysising different perspectives, critical thinking, statistical information? Like atm, I feel like I'm just explaining the different infectious diseases like SARS and Zika and generally just how factors in modern society like travel cause microbes to move around quickly, but I'm not sure how much detail is expected.
This essay is really stressing me out
