a question for all those lucky ppl doin the biochem option.
the dot point: 'explain using a named example the relationship between the chemical features of a protein and its shape using appropriate diagrams and models'

is this refering to the organisation of proteins, ie teritiary, primary etc, or is it refering to the functional groups, ie amine etc. or is it something else.

anyhelp would be great

both organisation and also the forces within them

disulfide linkages / h-bonding etc

anfinsen tested protein/enzyme chains (forgot which one) with beta-mercaptoethanol and urea and observed that enzyme activity was lost but under some circumstances restored.

His conclusion was the primary structure of protein is the most stable and directly leads to its chemical behaviour


a bit vague but do some extra research on this, very strong point
