ok so i was thinking about maybe doing a Law Degree and Bach of Science.

but my questions are:

1)What types of jobs out there could i get with this combination?
2)What's the workload like. i.e. is it possible to do both degrees and still have a life?
and 3)If this isn't really a good combination, what would be some other good degrees that would go with a BSc?

ps - if any of the terms or whatever aren't right in this post, i'm sorry. When it comes to uni i'm a bit clueless, hmmmmm.....makes me wonder why i want to go to one lol.

any help would be much appreciated.

I'm doing a BMedSc with my law degree, so I'm a bit more specialised, but it's close enough. The workload is pretty heavy, as both areas require a rather large intake of knowledge; in terms of contact hours I'm currently on 21/week, down from 24/week from last semester.

As far as jobs are concerned, I have no idea, aside from the obvious 'barrister or solicitor'. I eventually want to practice as a barrister, and doubt I'll actually end up 'using' my other degree - sure, the knowledge etc will be invaluable, especially if I deal with medical-based litigation in any way, but I don't have much of an interest in working in the health sciences field.

1) Anything Law(duh), but the science bit depends on your major.
2) No, no life. Science is waaaay demanding when it comes to contact hours.
3) B Commerce/ LLB is the more popular one nowdays because of its percieved relavence (in a LOT of fields). B Arts/LLB is the 'traditional degree'.

In conclusion, go ask Lazarus. :)

if you're going to combine with science, think about what you want to major in

there's a lot of different major programs and each will be substantially different

and a b sci/llb is good for landing patent law jobs

hmmmm.....this is a hard one. I was thinking that maybe if i did well enough i might be able to pick up LLB, after my first year.

But my main focus was to try and do a degree that would actually be useful, and would be good for getting jobs. I chose science cause it interests me. but i mean if it's not gonna be of any use what's the point right?

Is it possible when you're in uni to just drop a degree all together and do a different one? lol i'm so friggin screwed

Yeah you can drop a complete degree, take on a different one or modify it to some extent.

LLB however, cannot be a standalone degree at most universities. (except UTS)

In general, science degrees are in high demand, but it depends on your field of study.
