Hello, I was just wanting to know about the scaling of business studies.
I've heard from most people that Business studies (2u) is a scale down subject, is this true? In my school particularly, I don't see many of the higher achievers doing business studies though :S
Recently, I've messed up one of my business tests (we haven't gotten our marks yet though) I'm guessing I'll only get about 60-70% but I was ranked 10th in my school.
I'm just wondering, will these school marks only affect my ranking? cause I've done reasonably well in all the other tests. Or will these marks go towards my HSC 8(

I've also had a teacher tell my class that all subjects scale the same because they're all made to the same difficulty. I'm pretty sure it's not true though..

Subjects dont "scale down", they just dont scale well. Business studies is a fairly average scaler, but if you get in the 90's it scales quite well (I'm pretty sure that most subjects scaling converges in the 90's - please correct me if I am wrong anyone). With your second question, your marks determine your ranks which helps determine your internal marks (which counts for 50% of the HSC).

Also, your teacher has drawn an incorrect conclusion from the scaling process - teachers often know very little about the scaling process and often make misinformed comments.
