Check your assessment handbook.
You cant get a HSC assignment like that but non-assessment "tasks" can be given out as is.......
ie is it HSC or internal/inclass??

if it's an actual official hsc assessment, they're required to give you at least two weeks notice. they can, however, give you unofficial stuff with as little notice as they want.

Yes... if it's only an assignment

If it's an internal assessment for HSC, however, I don't think so, I think the notification has to be two weeks before the actual task is due

Out of the blue(last Friday) she decides that hw is going to be an assesment task add all them up to get an overal mark, because -and I quote- "it was too hard to think up something to give you"

Odds are it's not a cross form assessment, hence not HSC asessable. So she's perfectly entitled to throw a weekend assignment at you.

I suppose then she could, seeing as how it's a cumulative assessment, so if say you had 30 pieces of h/w throughout the year each piece would only be .5% of say 15% total...

And you should check your profile - you only have 5 subjects listed, ie. 10 units

lol no. 2 days is NOTHING. we needed 2 weeks min, and sometimes would get it with a bit less notice

yeah it is against BOS regulation. Appeal to the BOS.

Firstly, make an appeal to your school principal. If she/he refuses to act upon it, escalate the problem with BOS.
