My teacher told us that in AOS, you can use personal language, but in Mod A and B it's not a good idea. I meant to ask him the other day whether we could use it in Telling The Truth, because to me, it's more like the AOS than the modules. My assessmrnt is on Monday.

Thanks.

How exactly is Mod C more like AOS than the other modules?

If your teacher said that using personal language in Mod A and Mod B was "not a good idea" then i would believe, this would also apply for Mod C.

The main reasoning behind this is because Mod B, at present, is the one module where the syllabus has actually explicitly stated that personal language would be accepted and even encouraged.

This has been the case since post-2007 HSC http://www.boardofstudies.nsw.edu.au/syllabus_hsc/pdf_doc/english-adv-support-module-b.pdf.

For eg

" students devote the time needed for development of personal and intellectual connections with the text. " and

"deepening their own understanding and sharpening their personal view of the text’s value and its meaning".

Good luck with whatever you choose to do though.

Basically, I use personal language when the question dictates it.
ie; if it says; what is your interpretation of x and y, or do you believe that x and y etc etc.

And yeah, there's a huge shift this year towards personal responses...
