Police allege she allowed two men to climb onto the roof of her car before steering it down an incline.
I bet the men had more to do it than she did, considering she only 'allowed' it.

My friend's boyfriend died that way.

Not only was it raining, and not only were they totally wasted (not the driver) but he said to his girlfriend who was sitting in the car "can you open the window a bit so i can hold on?" She said "no! I'll get wet!"

She blames herself for it for not opening the window for him that day...

Driver got charged like hell. Actually not sure what happened to the driver. I was always pretty reluctant to ask details, considering my own formed opinion would've just made my friend more upset or angry

Harsh as it sounds - light and offbeat is where there belongs...

Unless someone's going to raise some debatable underlying topic via this article eg issues of personal responsibility in our increasingly litiguous society or somesuch.

What is the moral of the story?

Do not 'car surf'.

Anything like this happened in your community?
Only thing similar was when this guy smashed his commodore into a telegraph pole at 160, killing three of the backseat passengers. he and the front passenger walked from the wreck.
3 months later he t boned a security guard on his way to work. With 6 people in the car.

The moral of that story? Don't get in the car when that guy is driving.

Hopefully this raises awareness about the risks involved in that sort of behaviour.
I don't actually know how much more awareness needs to be raised. I mean, it's pretty self explanatory without the deaths of teenagers.
Don't ride on the bonnet, boot or roof of a moving vehicle. The fact that kids need to die before people stop and think, makes me wonder whether our peers really are mentally deficient.

Well that's the whole point. The people who car surf do so because it is risky.

i guess i'm sorry for your friend who died because it would have been a pretty gruesome way to go. but on the same point, how dumb can you get? there's some pretty good reasons why you travel INSIDE the car, people - and this is one of them.
