I have an assignment on criminal law and i have to use a case law that shows either recklessness or negligence....any ideas?
She said it's a criminal law case. We have recklessness and negligence in criminal law...Originally posted by Enlightened_One
recklessness and negligence come under civil law usually, so this makes it an interesting assignment to say the least.
Check out this site: austlii.edu.au
It lists most of the cases and all the laws in Australia

Recklessness: Hyam v. DPP (1974)
Miss Hyam poured petrol through her a woman's letterslot (in the door) and set it alight to scare her. The house burnt down and 2 people died. She said she only wanted to scare the person but knew what could happen - guilty. -- She foresaw or knew the result of her actions but acted anyway.
