Centrifugal Force? (1 Viewer)

My teacher has told me that centrifugal force doesn't exist, but I've looked online (yes, I know, not the best source of information) and there seems to be heaps of mentions of it in a "different frame of reference".

I'm curious as to weather according to the Board of Studies Centrifugal Force exists (ie. Do I need it for my HSC?) and as to what the actual definition (if any) of Centrifugal Force is.

It doesn't exist in the HSC syllabus. Your best bet is to forget about it. It is a fictitious force which arises due to inertia.

Are you from Penrith High School?

It is an inertial force (or fictitious as asianese said) and outside of the HSC and so, doesn't really matter for you.

Centrifugal force does exist. (however centrifugal force does not exist in an inertial frame of reference)
