Hello everybody, this is my first post. I am in year 11 in Australia and doing: English advanced, English extension 1, Mathematics, Mathematics extension 1, Biology, Drama, Modern History (by distance grr) , Ancient History. = 14 units.
In my half yearly exams i got:
English advanced - 72%
English extension - 72%
Mathematics - 73%
Maths extension - 38%
Modern History - estimated 80% (B)
Ancient History - 64%
Drama - no exam
Biology - 91%
I didn't finsh my ancient paper cos i ran out of time (we had to do 2 mini essays and 1 big one as well as short answer) and i wasn't motivated to study. I want the rundown on subjects because I am thinking of changing. I am good at Bio so maybe i should do another science like chem. I don't like ancient :mad1: so i should change that. Is chem boring? really hard? compared to bio? ancient worth it? It seems that everyone that does ancient gets a good uai. I did it partly becuase of that and i liked the teacher and i didn't like anything else in that line. I came first in bio and maths maybe 4th in math extension, 2nd in english extension, no idea about others - probably about average.
I think i should definetly keep - english (have to ), mathematics, Biology, Modern History, Drama,
Modern seems so essential in my all round education about the world and is quite interesting. I will probably drop ancient next year and keep the extensions. so i have 12 units.
Drama is my easy subject that i can get a good uai in without too much effort as i am quite good at it. I came first in Drama last year (10).
I can't stop thinking about my subjects (it is quite important). So what are the subjects like? What do you think i should do? I am good at maths and especially bio.
Oh and by the way i got the following in my year 10 school certificate:
English - 91%
Maths - 77% ( i didn't see that there was a third section to the paper)
Science - 89%
History - 91%
Geography - 93%
I want to go to uni but don't know what course. Maybe medicine. I want to keep my options open but i don't think i'd enjoy chem and i would only do it if i was positive about medicine it would be a waste if i didn't do med. I can always do a bridging course.
Oh and have a completly guessing estimation of my uai (based on school certificate and half yearlies)
So sorry about the rave, thanks for helping if you do.
This year i think i like science.
I want my estimated UAI, a low down on the subjects (liked? easy?) and what subjects should i do?
