changing author / song name of mp3 (1 Viewer)

how can i edit these of a mp3?

like, i rename the file well and good, but when i open it, the display in teh playlist is like: album- audio01, for example.

i want to edit that.

This is the ID3 tag. The player you use should let you do this. What player are you using?

edit: never mind. i found out what to do. thanks anyway mate

for those who'll stumble across this, as a follow-up, right-click the song, then view info. then change it as you please.

Or on Windows Media Player, right click the name, click Advanced Tag Editor and voila.
