Hey need helpp.
I'm wondering what the main Christian denominations were that set up missions when the Government set up the protection period through to it becoming forced assimilation.

The Main Christian Denominations?

You have answered your own question!!

Catholic and C of E spring to mind. Also the Lutherans (of all groups) were active.

(BROAD SWEEPING STATEMENT-NOT ALWAYS ACCURATE)
Must keep in mind that the Churches did not actively run missions as they were govt run/administered. The Churches just 'managed' them.
Also keep in mind the positives of Mission activity when looking at this. Just dont dwell on the negatives as all missions were not bad...they were the govt run and managed reserves.
Generally Missions='good'. Reseves='bad' (noting CAPITALISED point above)
