I usually make coffee in my unit (which is technically on campus :p) and drink it on the way to class. The only two places i have ever had coffee at the uni are the coffee thing in the hunter building and the CT...im too poor to buy coffee on campus reglularly. The cans of iced coffee that pinkies used to have were the best, i loved the colombian one. Unfortunately i havent seen them back there since the fire :(

it has its good and bad aspects...the lecturer (stuart marlin) we have at the moment is pretty animated, so its good, but some of them are very dry. and the material can get a bit annoying/boring.
i think its a good course, but theres a lot of material to learn, and it can get a bit tedious (dont do 1010 unless you want to read 19 journal articles and write 2000 words on whether or not the spanking of children should be banned)

That is what I have heard, that it is pretty dry. I have always thought it would be pretty interesting, but things like that essay make me think otherwise:(.

it could be worse, its not that bad really, its just their trying so desperately to be taken seriously and considered a science, and its making them very anal about little things.

although, i had to laugh at frini (course coordinator person, + tutor) the other day, shes full on making out that we're not smart enough to perform t-tests coz we're only first yrs and all this shit, and their so bloody easy!!

I also don't drink coffee, but the girl that serves it behind the auchmuty library is mighty friendly.. so that stall gets my vote.

haha 'doris' i think it is, the kinda older chick in the cafe in the AIC? she remembers me and my order!!

i LOVE bio...although im bloody stressed about this P2 report, you guys totally lucked out, you get to do your main section on the GA3 experiment, but we have to do our main section on the light experiment with the bean seedlings, and theres absolutely nothing to write..
garys been somewhat more tolerable this semester, hes finally treating us as something at least partially resembling humans :p we've had a few good convos, and he usually spends most of his time laughing at me, which is kinda funny.
i loathe my assistant demo (mark) at the moment (thank god he is only for plants)...he is a prick..although he has been a bit better the last couple of weeks.
how bloody awesome was stephen dibley, theres this whole convo on my bb about him and how good he was, lol
but yeah, i love bio, so its all good.
how did you go with quiz 1? i got 160, which i was happy enough with, thats a D, and a hell of an improvement on last semesters quiz marks, hahaha!!

Dibley was awesome. One of my favourite lecturer's so far.

I never thought I'd say it, but... I actually enjoy learning about plants, lol. I was expecting so much worse. Soooooo very much worse. The quiz was a lot better than last semesters.. Apart from it locking me out and making me do it all again.. I got 170 so I'm happy with that.

This assignment is craaaaaaap. I've been staring blankly at Excel wondering how to present the results. Not to mention how to write 13 pages on something that took about 20 minutes to do all up.. bleh!

I'm SO over plants though, haha, the other day Gary was standing next to me explaining about measuring the internodal cells, and he turned to talk to the chick next to me, and I said "how fun" really sarcastically under my breath, I didn't think he'd heard me, but he turns and is like "gee thanks for your enthusiam!! hahaha". I'm just reminding myself theres only 3 more plant lecs and 2 more labs..then onto animals, yay!!!

I'm having the same problem with my report, my methods is like 4 lines, my results like 1/2 a page, my discussion so far is like 1/3 a page...thank god they've given us the extension!! Hey, with table 3 (the one looking at the cell/internode ratio), do you reckon we graph the means and standard errors for the internode and cell lengths and the ratios, or just the ratio?

I'd probably graph all three just to be sure, but you certainly shouldn't be marked down for just doing the ratio.. it's the only information that's really significant.
