i was wondering what exactly the program is for a com/law student in second year who wants to major in accounting.

in session 1 this year i am enrolled in fins1613 and acct 2a. next session i am enrolled in acct 2b, but am ensure as to what the other 6 credit point subject is. from the online handbook, i take it that i must select an accounting elective. is there any 'typical' subject which a 2nd year com/law student would take as this elective?

thanks guys

Yeah if you do a single major, you must done 8 acct subjects (including 1A/1B)
there's a list of electives on the school of accounting website.

However, why not do another law subject? or can't you do that till 4th year..?

well currently i am enrolled in the 3a course in session 2 of this year (which i take is not the best idea given the diffuclty of the 2b course). by the various websites the only real accounting option is (per prerequisites)
a. global financial reporting and analysis acct 3601
b. e-business : strat & processes

i take it that the 8 courses to make the required 48 units of cred consists of all the compulsories (1a-3-b) and 2 additional electives of which one is undertaken during session 2?

the reason i ask is because some of you wiser older students may have some tips as to what order (and in fact what actual) electives to take.

Have you done 2A? Why not do that this session?
and do 3B in session 2

Either way, you'll have to do either 3601 or 3585, so I'd get either one of those out of the way (note that you need 2B for 3601 or 2A for 3585 as prerequisites)
