Combined degrees... im confused^2 (1 Viewer)

Can someone pls explain combined degrees to me? like, why is there a thing called 'combined law' and not 'combined science' or something?
and after you finish ur 5 years or w/e and get ur 2 degrees, can u still 'combine' and get 2 masters after an additional 4 yrs or something?

Intuitively the above sounds full wrong to me... heh correct me if im wrong pls.

U can combine Bachelor degrees, ie Science/Arts, which is 5 years
but I dont think there are such things as combined postgraduate degrees

and unless u do Med or Dentistry, why the HELL would u wanna stay at uni for 10 yrs!

this may sound crazy to u all but i wanna get one of those umm... thingies where ppl have to call u doctor etc

yea i just want little letters after my name. i think i have 5 now, i want a really long list. so i guess i'll be looking at the course with the most letters.

the only reason u'd want a PhD in this day and age is to work as an academic, as Cyph said...doing research every...single...day...and of course lecturing
