next year im planning to go for commerce arts at UNSW
does anyone know whether i can still double major in commerce in addition to my arts major?
I've heard that you cant, but thats sounds a bit silly to me.

Also, is anyone here studying a language from scratch for their arts major? If so, how proficient do you expect tp be when you finish the course?

it depends on which language you want to study
some are harder than others

also it depends on your enthusiasm for it
if you really enjoy the language and are genuinely interested in it, then you should be rather fluent
i got a mate who is finishing one semester of chinese 1a and hes really good at what hes learnt so far

imnot sure how many majors u can do..but i know its FIVE LONG YEARRRRRS
thats what put me off com/arts

damn....i wanted to do double commerce major and learn chinese from scratch.
From the sound of ti though, it might just be better to do straight commerce and learn the language elsewhere and save myself 2 years

dude, u can double major in commerce and single major in Arts

Commerce is 132 credit points, and arts is 108 credit points

what kinds of differences are there between majors and minors?

minors you do it out of your interest but in the end you will not get recognised for it

ok but what about like, depth of information. like how many units is a major compared to a minor?

It would be good if you researched this yourself, its on the www.fce.unsw.edu.au site, major is 8 subjects (48 units), minor is 4 subjects (24 units), co-major is 7 subjects (42 units)

Yeah the FCE site is the best place to answer your Q's,
or you can wait for Open Day in August, and grab all them brochures

I was a com/art student, just dropped art during this semester

You can't do double major in commerce. and if you want to study a language, I guess that by the time you finish, you'll be fluent in it (I assume)

really? but they told me that I can't double major in commerce if I do combined Com/Art
