comparitive study of texts question (1 Viewer)

should we be focusing more on the similarities between texts? will we be marked down if we refer to points in which the texts are different or espouse different messages etc?

basically, should i just stick to what they have in common? cos i think theres some things which are pretty different about my texts (BNW/BR)

no comparison means similarities and differences...focus on the similarities but dont leave out the differences. as they are from very different contexts (huxley and scott) they have very different influences or reasons that they wrote the text

yeah i was thinking more about themes cos obviously contextually speaking they are worlds apart... but thanks!

You're right, they're very different texts - the differences are just as important as the similarities. If you're worried about how they'll judge your answer refer to the contexts in which they were respectively writing before or after stating your point, that should always clear things up
