guys i was after a new laptop and just wondering if any1 had any recommendations...brands to steer clear of all that sort of things

We had a similar post the other day, I think the general concensus was that we all liked Toshiba laptops, and those of us who arent windows only guys, like Apple laptops as well.
Another brand, which isnt always avaliable but proved popular was Fujitsu.

Ultimately, as long as you get the specs you want - its a good laptop - dont always go off brand names as some times you might not get exactly what you want.
