okay so i am year 11 (now 12) and do mathematics extension 1. In the textbook there are so many chapters but our school has only taught us 4 chapters:

harder 2u
circle geo
trigonometry
parametric representation of parabola..

But what about other chapters like integration, combinations etc. Is this normal in other schools??

Are you using the Cambridge Year 11 Textbook? Because a lot of the Year 12 stuff comes from that book even though it says its 'Year 11'

From memory I dont think so. At the start of the year we would switch back and forth from the Yr 11 and Yr 12 book but in the end we didnt cover every chapter

Jones and Couchman? ooh, I pity you.

Get Fitzpatrick or something.

J&C is what my school used - it sucks.
Your responsibility to get a better textbook. Thankfully, my maths teacher saw the light and said "lol wat are these textbooks the school gave us" and told the school to get us a proper textbook.

Mines maths in focus, we are just starting integration ( half the kids in my class finished the whole thing last year)
we havnt fully done parametrics yet
every school varies, but in the end , most will cover all topics :)

You have 2 options:
1 - Spend the entire of year 12 questioning your school's teaching, and most likely fail.
2 - Accept that all schools have to teach the same content, commit yourself to learning, and still have a chance of failing IMO LOL>

The choice is yours
