connecting computers (1 Viewer)

hi

ive got my normal computer (the 1 im using 2 type this) and ive got a laptop.

i want 2 play games with a friend, so i want 2 connect the 2 computers without using the internet. like a lan or somehting.

is this possible? and which is the least expensive way 2 do it

your laptop probably comes with a network interface card so grab another one for the desktop for around $20 get a cat5 cable for $5 and you should be set

If you just wanna connect the two computers, get a crossover cable... just ask at a geekshop. Then you can connect them by ethernet... assuming both your laptop and your PC have network cards (if you're not sure post a reply and someone will get to it.. yeah.)

if you want to connect multiple computers and you don't want multiple network cards, consider investing in a switch or a hub.
