Sorry...you all know i have no idea what im doing...

Ok so i have stacks of music in media player, and i also have an mp3 encoding program. But little did i know that once i rip tracks to media player, it protects them (ive since unchecked the "protect" box). Sooo, im wondering if there is any way i can still convert these files without ripping everything all over agian (cos that would be a real pain in the arse).

Thanx guys

No. Thats the idea of the file being "protected".

Use dbPowerAmp for cd-ripping, it also has an AUX-IN encoding. It's all free-ware at their website.
Thanks, but what does that do for the tons of music already protected?

^^^ yes but its so frustrating!!!! Basically you are all telling me that if i want to convert my music to mp3, i have to go rip it all again?! And none of you clever computer people can help me get around it? :(

And unchecking the "protect" box should prevent further problems?! This is so frustrating!!!

you can burn it back to a cd image and rip it again, but this would be very time consuming

Nope. Just get the CDs and rip them in mp3.
