This subject provides an introduction to Media Arts. Students gain an overview of the history and defining features of the field and develop fundamental skills in digital media production.The relationship between analogue and digital media is examined and crucial aesthetic concepts such as representation, simulation, narrative, database and interaction are introduced. The practical workshops and assignments provide a means of relating broad theoretical concerns to aspects of creative practice.
