Creative writing guidance for belonging? (1 Viewer)

I just realised that I'm not up to the standard I aim for in terms of creative writing. My strengths lie in essay writing, and following that, short answers. However, throughout year 11 I really struggled with producing a creative piece of high standard. I don't know if that's because I didn't put in sufficient effort, or simply because it's my weak point.

Does anyone have any advice? How did you approach HSC creative writing? And more importantly, what are some tips regarding creative writing.
