An enclosure is to be built adjoining a barn. The walls of the barn meet at 135* and 117m of fencing is available
Show that the area of the enclosure is A = 117x - (3/2)x^2

Note : attached the diagram of barn (must need)
It's a square and a triangle

Label points: Label the square ABCD and uncommon side of triangle as E
Well since it's a square so BCD=90 (angles of a square are all <90)
Therfore DCE=45 (complimentary angles)
But angle CDA=90 (square) therefore EDC=90 (st. line <)
So DEC=180-(90+45)=45 (angle sum of triangle) therefore DE=DC (Isoceles triangle since 2 equal sides). Since DC=DE=x
AD=y-x (since DE=x and AE=y)
So we've got A=square + triangle
Have a go from there, if not, i will finish working for you

NB: all were angles
