yep...u have to teach the class
talk abt the elective and how it realtes to ur text(s). find a commonality and hold that thru for ur argument or use as a punch line near the end of ur presentation.
i did mine jus a couple of weeks ago. i did mine using powerpoint.
i have posted my outline for my presentation. i jus talked abt each point and used quotes. also events from the text can be used as evidence, so it doesnt necessarily have to be quotes.
i did the bone people, but the main breakdown of a question can be seen.
Code:
The Complexity of Relationships in The Bone People: Kerewin and Simon

Wary of relationships.
Embraces the Global.

Simons personality changes.
Kerewin is Simons retreat.
Questions
Was Simons forced retreat due to the accident positive or negative?
Why do Simon AND Kerewin retreat together from the world around them?
What would be a possible reason why Kerewin left her family?
Do you think Kerewin is/isnt Simons retreat?
the q's in the end were discussion questions to involve the class. this is a very important part of a seminar. other ways can be synectics, and other creative things.
hope this will help
