i'm considering development studies at newi uni for next year and i was just wondering if anyone on bos can tell me a little about it - career options after the course, level of difficulty, level of enjoyment - that sort of thing...i've read into it on the newcastle uni website but i'm interested in getting an insider's perspective..

thanx guys :)

but a lot of my mates are doing enviro sci. one wrote to big chicky into all that sorta stuff, asking whether it would be better to do devt stud or env sci, and the chick said that env sci had better prospects or some shit like that..

Development Studies is going to be my top preference. It looks really interesting and the fact that it combines environmental engineering, environmental economics and environmental science, without mathematics, really appeals to me. Also the fact that you study sociology and anthropology subjects, as well as political subjects (I can’t wait to I do International Relations in year 2) just made this degree really appealing.

Sociology is interesting, admittedly the one im doing is deeply rooted in an educational context, its still really fascinating. Well i think so anyways.....
