Does anyone know the difference between the Iriver IFP-795 (512mb) player and the Iriver IFP-895 (512mb) player.

The IFP-895 part of the 800 series sounds more advanced as it has a higher number than the IFP-795 part of the 700 series. But surprisingly the 795 costs more than the 895.

Does anyone know the reasons why?

i went mp3 player shopping abt a week ago...

the spec sheet says they're basically the same... i think it's the design... i like the look of the 795 better than the 895... but in the end, i bought a monolith MX-7050 slide ;)

Probably newer, and a tip, mp3direct and other places that "provide" those new mp3 players are rip-offs. You're better off buying direct from the states

150.0 USD
=
194.2200 AUD (roughly) for the prices quoted from iriver

On all the aussie websites including www.mp3direct.com.au the IFP 795 is nearly $100 more than the 895
I think it might be to do with when they stocked the item and hence the price they have to sell it for to make a profit. Perhaps you can ask them? Especially pointing out the two pretty much have identical specs.

A few reasons i would pay more for those at aussie websites is because of the warranty.

Like i've bought heaps of things over the net and from ebay and stuff but if the thing stuffs up, where do u go.
Also I use mp3direct as a price check for when I do go and buy the same thing in the shop. It gives me a price where I would like to haggle the salesman to.

It ridiculous then if one costs $100 more than the other just because of the design. Most mp3 players are so small, they're designed to be put into your pocket and no one ever really sees them.
